The Apple Vision Pro, Apple’s upcoming product, a mixed-reality headset delivering immersive experiences, has been met with overwhelming customer demand. The pre-orders of this Apple Vision Pro started at 5 AM. On Friday 19 January 2024, Pacific (8 AM Eastern) all Headsets were sold out in just 18 minutes, according to Apple’s website.
People who have placed their pre-orders will get their headsets with the official launch date of the product on February 2, 2024. But, those who missed the initial window will have to wait a bit more, as the shipping dates can take time to March and April, depending on the configuration of the region.
Limited production of Apple Vision Pro
Apple has not revealed how many units of Vision Pro they have been producing, but some reports said that the supply of this headset is very limited. Ming-Chi Kuo, an Analyst said that Apple has made only 60,000 to 80,000 headsets and some other sources said that there can be estimated 400,000 units.
The quantity of these Headsets is quite lower than the production of a normal new iPhone, which can usually run into millions of units. But this time, Apple may have opted for a limited approach due to the high cost and complexity of the Vision Pro, priced at $2,999 in the US.
Some resources said that Apple may have stored some stock for its retail stores for the customers who missed a chance to pre-online order. But, this information still needs to be confirmed. The availability of these headsets depends on the location and demand.
