Google is planning to add an AI voice Feature to Gmail’s email drafting tool soon.

This new Gmail feature “Help me Write” will use the generative AI to help users create draft emails. One thing to keep in mind is that this AI voice feature is currently only available through Labs, Google testing ground for new AI features.

Here is a example that currently, users enter a written prompt like “help me write an introduction to someone I met at a recent meeting.” But as TheSpAndroid marked that soon, user might be able to use this feature “Help me Write” with the voice.

In order to activate this new AI voice feature user just has to tap ‘Draft email with voice‘ with his mouse on screen. This will open a microphone button for recoding the user prompt. After recording, user just has to hit ‘Create‘. This will create an email draft that user can edit later.

Google has been constantly adding AI features to its tools and services. For example, there’s Duet AI, an assistant for writing Google Docs and sheets. Moreover, you can also have an AI-powered search experiment called SGE (Still in Labs). Additionally, Google recently announced Circle to Search on new upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 devices, which helps users to search by circling an image.

Even though Google launched the feature ‘Help me Write’ for Gmail in June 2023, still there has not been any official announcement from the company about this. This likely suggests that there will be an announcement soon.
